What scholarships are offered through the Foundation?
We offer several scholarship opportunities including:
- Academic Excellence Scholarship (Collegiate-only)
- The Hannah Seoh Alumnae Scholarship (Alumnae-only)
- Chapter Leadership Grant (Collegiate or Alumnae Chapters-only)
- Member Support Grant (All Members)
How are the Foundation programs funded?
Financial support for our scholarships comes entirely from individuals, associations, and businesses who connect with the organization’s mission to empower women through funding scholarships, supporting philanthropic endeavors and promoting leadership development.
How can I establish a scholarship through the Foundation?
You can contact the Scholarship Program Director at scholarships@dphilfoundation.org. They will set up an initial call to discuss details such as:
- How many scholarships will be offered?
- What is the award amount per scholarship?
- How often will the scholarship be accepting applications? (annually, semesterly)
- Who is eligible to apply? (all members, alumnae members only, graduate students only, collegiate members only, a specific region, a specific chapter only, a specific degree)

What information and documents will I need to prepare for my online application?
Application requirements vary depending on scholarship and grant, but some general items to have on hand:

How are scholarship recipients selected?
Applications will be reviewed and evaluated by the Scholarship Review Committee based on standardized criteria. The combined scores are ranked, and recipients are recommended to the Delta Phi Lambda Foundation Board of Directors for final approval.
How are grant recipients selected?
Applications will be reviewed by the Delta Phi Lambda Foundation Board of Directors and selected based on need and impact.
How will I know whether I'm selected to receive a scholarship?
All applicants are notified via email if they were selected or not. Be sure to check your spam accounts if you have not heard from us in over 6 months from applying.
When are scholarship checks issued?
Checks will be mailed to each recipient’s mailing address provided by the recipient during the post-acceptance process. The recipient will need to provide this information in order to accept the award. It is important that this information is accurate.

Funding Life Changing Opportunities for Women - The Delta Phi Lambda Foundation was founded and incorporated on December 22, 2010, making us the first nonprofit Foundation in the National APIDA Panhellenic Association (NAPA). Our vision is to continue being innovators in helping women break through glass ceilings. - Making a Positive Impact - You would be empowering women to break through glass ceilings through supporting leadership and professional education.
- Supporting Community Outreach - Through the leadership education sponsored and scholarship funds distributed, women take these opportunities to leverage the education received to provide relief to local communities.
- Paying It Forward - As a member, the Sorority developed you into who you are today and provided you with the lifelong friends you met in the process. You have the honor of ensuring that current and incoming members will continue to have these same positive experiences.
How is my donation spent?
The Delta Phi Lambda Foundation seeks to operate efficiently and to minimize fundraising and administrative costs. On average, we allocate 80% percent of our expenditures to our programs — a number that is above the standard recommended by CharityWatch, one of the leading charity-rating organizations in the US.
- 80% - Program Awards (scholarships, grants)
- 15% - Administrative Expenses
- 5% - Fundraising Expense
How will my donations impact award recipients?
Award recipients have spent their funding on:
- College Expenses - Tuition, books, practice exams fees, admission tests fees, national/local Sorority membership dues
- Living Expenses - Rent, mortgage, utilities, groceries, gas, student loans costs
- Leadership and Professional Development Expenses - Conference registration, travel, housing costs, professional certifications, continuing education units license fees
- Philanthropic Fundraising Event Expenses - Flyer, Tablecloth, food, drinks
